The Parasitic Flashing of 1956 by Brett Stout

The brevity of dangerous
conversations
between cast iron
pipes
and
the concrete necropolis +

I am discord,

nails grown too long
now
trimmed Malaria
infesting feral qualities
of man’s remnant
past +

I am dissidence,

snuffing
of the 8mm film
not
of the canned variety
the sounds of constant chewing
play
pause
stop
on vast weathered IMAX screens =

I am dissension,

San Quentin
inmates fumigate
the Northern California
depleted
rivers and streams
barbarous blood
violates
neon red syringes
planted
under sunlight by dark pigmented hands,

I am division.
