The girl with refinery eyes
quietly tucked herself into
far corners of the world,
folded herself into thirds,
caught the slow cool winds
of the Himalayas between
her third and fourth fingers.

that she knew every king and
not a damn one of them was
much to look at most days.
Being regal is a parlor trick,
she said. With enough practice
anyone can pull it off, she said.
