Everything I Know About Writing (in 100 words or less) by Bud Smith
I try to be punk rock about it, and not take anything in the writing process too seriously. Life is probably a complete joke; no one can tell for sure.
When I write, I never fear the stupid idea. I ask myself, “Would a dog wanna watch this story on TV if I left it home alone on the couch, or would it shit on the floor?” Sometimes I try to entertain the dog. Other times, not so much.
I try to write things that people would want to either hear at a party or a funeral.
Bud Smith kicks ass professionally. His novel Tollbooth is now available from Piscataway House.
