Dalanie Beach is a nonbinary creative writer and visual artist from Anderson, IN. They hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Miami University (OH). In the past, they have been editor-in-chief of the literary journal Chimes and the Art editor for Oxmag. Their short story “Everything You Never Had” was recently published as Editor’s Choice in East Fork Journal of the Arts and was awarded the Jordan-Goodman Prize for Fiction. Their artwork often circles themes of mental illness, the role of art in our lives, and the complicated nuances of identity; mediums they gravitate toward include collage, painting, linocuts, and crochet.
