LETTER FROM THE EDITOR / July 2022 / Kolleen Carney-Hoepfner
Just a quick note; I almost forgot to write this at all! A couple weeks ago we returned from Texas, and since then I've been distracted by our chapbook press, Cherry Dress; our first release, Olivia Pierce Graham's Gloom of Excruciating Desires will be arriving in late summer. Now that I've done some work on that, it's time to take off again, this time to Massachusetts, where we'll be visiting my family (and trying to avoid that Covid life) for two (long) weeks.
The summertime rolls. We're open for submissions through August, but not in poetry and fiction. Most people have been rad about the long wait time for publication, but it seems like we'll be caught up and it'll be a thing of the past come the new year. We're in dire need for One Perfect Episode and It's Good, Actually submissions; if you're game, send us something! We gained a lot of new followers after an incident with some abusive emails; to that I say, welcome! Glad to have you.
It's hot everywhere in America, too hot. Things seem rather bleak, but now it's hard to remember a time when they didn't. What can we do really? We can rage against it, but it's also important to remember being gentle with ourselves. I hope this letter is finding you in a gentle moment.
As for me, I'll be biting my nails to the quick, in fear for Kim Wexler's life. She went too far, but I love her anyway!
Always,
KCH
