Hello friends,

Here we are in the second month of 2020 and it feels like it's been six thousand years. But hey, Parasite had a great night at the Oscars, so it's not all horrible.

Last month we were fortunate enough to showcase Los Angeles area poet Nikolai Garcia. I hope you enjoyed his work; I've been wanting to feature it since I met him at Ingrid Calderon-Collins' monthly poetry feature in Highland Park. This month I am pumped to be featuring Matt Mitchell's poetry; Matt is one of my favorites poets at the moment and every single one of his poems is a knockout in this issue.

Our cartoon anthology Life is Like a Hurricane is slated to come out on 2/29. As of this writing we have a submission blitz open for it, because I can't lay out anything to save my life and we need about 5-8  more pieces, so get at it! Check out our social media for more info and news.

That's about it. It's a new year, a new season of Vanderpump Rules is underway, we're reading for our Pop Culture issue, and I'm still trying to learn how to balance all this stuff while caring for my daughter, who is rapidly approaching her first birthday.I appreciate the patience you've all had with me as I have let more than a few things fall by the wayside. I'm getting there.

You're all my most favorite Valentine. Talk to you in April.

Always,

KCH
