What if death is only
Our next state of desire
The plum that fissures blackly
With its honey its wasp acid
And the black sugar
We call also ash
And the outline of stone
We say is another
Kind of desire
And sweetness we will carry it
To the next woman and man
This world may eat
The burdens of the fruit
We will bury and uncover
Its sweetness one world over
